Well, now I have seen the 5 movies nominated for best picture, it was kind of exhausting. Not only did I watch the nominated movies, I also watched random other movies. In other words, I have had my fair share of silver screenitude for a while. If you do see any of the movies nominated for best picture, see Little Miss Sunshine, then Babel, then The Queen, then Letters from Iwo Jima, then The Departed. And if you want to see the best movie of the year, watch Pan's Labyrinth, then Children of Men. Yes. Well anyway, if you do want in on some oscar ballot goodness... 1 DOLLAR!!!!!!!
I thought I had seen it all, until I by chance came upon this review written by someone named "mike". This is by far the most disgusting, mind-exploding, world-crushing piece of writing I have ever seen. Worse, this is for this product,

Which is a LAN adapter that would not be written by a minor who does not know how to spell the word this. So, without further adieu...

I am seventeen now, according to ESRB, I am now mature.
Those poopy pants.

I thought of this song when I was at a Youth Songwriter concert and I thought I could make better songs than just the usual, "Why don't you love me?" fare. Well anyway, this was also brought on by the English exam last week and I haven't bothered writing it out til now. It sounds better if you sing it, so put it to whatever tune you like, mine is kinda of a Polka where at the last two sylables it goes up a bit, enjoy! (PS, always go back and read the chorus when it tells you to, it sounds way better that way)
When I sit mungs't the halls of school, I think,
Twixt emotional ones and jocks a plent,
About the speech of yester semester,
Shakespearean tongue, from Othello sent.
Why would one speak in blocks and jumbles so?
And did commoners even understand?
With words sprung forth from creative cradles,
Was discombobulation in their hand?
Chorus:
BEEEECAAAAUSSSSE...
I write in verse, and I am not bitter,
Ye Olde english watermelon spitter,
Just five iams, please don't be a quitter,
It is just Iambic Pentameter!
All of my cats they come in a litter,
Come down to Tim's and buy me a fritter,
When nature calls I go to the shitter,
It is just Iambic Pentameter!
I write in Iambic Pentameter!
Now I get up for class, English I think,
Recite a poem and read a new book,
Whats this? Not written in Ye Olde English?
"Here Teacher! Why not come and have a look!
Why tis this book not done in nice stanzas?
No new words, Just ifs, ands, and buts, oh my!"
She did an odd look, eyebrow 'bove the next.
"I don't care" stated Mrs. Grodanzas.
Chorus
I rose from my chair infuriated,
Why would someone not listen to Daniel?
Don't they all know that Shakespeare was correct,
In the way that he barked, unlike a spaniel.
His style of speech is antiquated,
That is what makes it such a joy to read,
So I left the room and shouted out loud,
"I'm oft to read Macbeth, at a great speed!"
Chorus
"By the way, Macbeth dies at the end"

Well, besides having the best name for a live journal ever, this has been a fun saturday. I saw the movie Pan's Labyrinth, which I have to say, is one of the best movies I've ever seen, and I've seen my fair share. Very few times will an audience laugh, cry, cheer, and cringe in fear all in one movie. In fact, this movie gave me that lump of emotion in the throat feeling. When you feel like you might cry. Yah that good. Actually this has happened twice recently, this and Children of Men. See BOTH OF THESE MOVIES RIGHT NOW!!!!! Do you remember how you felt at the end of Big Fish?
Well after this movie, I went to a place that my brother was raving about. At first I wasn't sold on the idea, Korean Barbeque. If you don't know, its a bunch of meat and a grill, that you cook yourself. Well, it sounds arduous, but they must have been in the best sauce for days, because this meat was awesome. Well, we got all you could eat, and tried some things I've never had before, like Ox liver and tongue. Now, liver wasn't that good, but oh my god, tongue is actually one of the best meats ever. I don't know why, but it just has the perfect texture. Well anyway, I told them it was birthday dinner, because my birthday is February the 1st (hint hint), and they brought out Korean drums and lead the entire restaurant in a rousingly Asian version of happy birthday.
A super fine Saturday all around.

Yes, very pleased this christmas time, instead of getting lots of expensive gifts I instead got many smaller gifts and a wad of cash/gift cards. I like, got some games to play, some books to read, some clothes to wear, and much to fill my bank account with, joy to the me.
T'was the week before christmas,
And all through the mall,
Not a store was unentered,
Even "Vomit n' all!"
Yet I, our dear hero,
Was sitting at his cash,
Clicking the buttons,
His fingers a flash.
When up came a customer,
Inside of "The Bay",
With a red coloured ski mask,
With some white trimmed flay.
He went up to the cash,
With a walk slow and fed,
And pulled out a pistol,
In a candy cane red.
He said, "Ho ho ho,
Best beware young cashier,
I need some more money,
For egg nog and beer"
Then he let off a shot,
From his candied cannon,
Shooting himself in the foot,
And screamed "FLUGHGRANNONBLUHBANNON!"
He then hobbled away,
Cursing the elf Mr. Bun,
For making a sugar-high,
Fast-shooting gun.

It seems like a lot of folks are getting those dual screen nintendo devices, so I have ten ds games, so if your wondering about which games to buy, then you might as well spot this list. And if you disagree with me then post, and keep the anti-ds shananigans to a minimum. (10 is lowest, 1 is highest)
10. Feel the Magic XY/XX:
Ya, this game is uhhh... special. Well its short, wierd, and as soon as someone spots you playing it, they will be creeped out by you. Also its hard as hell on hell mode, so I don't suggest it. And no multiplayer!!!
9. Animal Crossing Wild World:
This is one of those games that you only play because it becomes a habit, this is definetly one of them. I played this everyday for about two monthes, and near the end it was only for two minutes or so because I would check if there was anything cool in the store. Well, this game has no chores, which was the meat of the gamecube version, theres pretty much nothing left. I actually left this alone for like six monthes, came back, and my town was a disaster zone, so it makes it so that if it isn't a habit, it gets owned.
8. Viewtiful Joe Double Trouble:
Please do not take this as a warning not to play the stellar gamecube version, (get it right now), this game just doesn't translate well. The graphics are choppy, no voice-overs (the gc version's ones were kick ass), and wierd gameplay that required quick fingers from changing stylus to buttons over and over. Also short with no multiplayer or unlockables.
7. Super Mario 64 DS:
Ya, I am the only person that had a N64 and did not have the original Mario 64, so this game was cool and new for me. But ya, it was long and good but already done, with some funky minigames.
6. Advance Wars Dual Strike:
This would be a really really good game if it new how to make a curve. This game goes from cakewalk to coalrun wayyyy to fast. Near the end of the game there are so many things to remember it gets hard as nails, and most of stradegies are based on trial and error. Maybe its because I'm bad at that game...
5. Mario Kart DS:
This is by far the best multiplayer out of all my cartridges, but its only at five because the next few games are so solid, but ya, good amount of courses, solid controls, and yummy unlockables.
4. Tetris DS:
Dee doo dee doo, dee dee dee doooo doo dee deee, dee doo dee dee dee doo doo. Holy crap I'm addicted and I can't stop, but ya, its tetris which a few people don't dig, but oh man, this is a lot of blocks.
3. New Super Mario Bros.:
Oh man, talk about awesome. This game is like two games in one. A kick ass (but a little short) platformer and a practically full version of Mario Party DS built in. Honestly, the minigames are as fun as the real game, which is helluva good.
2. WarioWare Touched!:
Few games utilize the DS as well as this game right here. Like all the WarioWare games, this relies on first trying to comprehend what the hell is going on, then perfecting your technique, then unlocking literally hundreds of goodies, and then beating your high scores. Few games have made me laugh so hard as this, with the awesome humour in the minigames and watching your friends trying to figure it out leads to many "WTF" moments and guffahs. A must-have.
1. Kirby Canvas Curse:
Thats right, this underloved game was so awesome, that I finished it five times just to unlock everything. This game is fun, challenging, and a helluva lots of fun. This game is a mix of classic 2D Kirby platforming, crazy gravity physics, and drawing skills. Kirby rides on a line you draw and when you click him he attacks. Filled with puzzles and even bosses, this game was totally kick ass. Even with unlockable minigames and four(!) secret characters gives you tons of gameplay and the best for your money.
Hope this helps, they might make good gifts for a DS owner near you ;)
